"Tennis Plays for Peace" at the Australian Open

23 Jan 2023

To kick off the Australian Open this year at Rod Laver in Melbourne, various tennis greats took part in ‘Tennis Plays for Peace’.  This global initiative is supported by all Grand Slams, with funds directed to relief efforts in Ukraine.

The entertainment included an appearance from a Ukrainian choir named ‘Volya’ (meaning ‘freedom’) consisting of representatives from various Ukrainian choirs across Melbourne, including Kiah Triat - currently working with our team. The group sang We Are Australian, followed by the Ukrainian National Anthem. Their efforts were met with a groundswell of emotion and applause.  We too thank the Volya Choir, and recognise the efforts of volunteers, billeting families and not-for-profit organisations assisting in a huge variety of ways. Kiah appears to the right hand side of the conductor.
